It’s from a CD that I have by Bobby Horton. It’s called “Songs of Faith from the Civil War: Vol. 2”. So it was written long enough ago to be sung during the War Between the States. I don’t know who wrote it. Perhaps I’ll make it so it will play on the site.

Great post, Jarod... I like the changes to Abide With Me. I've loved that songs for several years but reading this version it takes on a new, deeper, better meaning for me, I guess because of where I'm at now in my relationship with the Lord.

I've never heard the first song and reading it's raised goosebumps on my arms. Who wrote it and when? "And prisons would palaces prove if Jesus would dwell with me there." AMEN!
