Isaiah 59 – Part 1

Friends, if we want our Father in heaven to heal our land, repentance comes first. "If my people...will humble themselves...and turn from their wicked ways...then I will hear from heaven and heal their land." (2 Chr. 7:14) This is not earning grace or favor from God, or even earning deliverance. That is because repentance is not a work. It is giving up. Simply admitting that God is right, and I am wrong. It is forsaking sin and turning to him. That is not a work of our flesh, it is the work of the Holy Spirit.
But you might say, "Hey preacher, that is right! Everyone else needs to turn back to God. But I am a Christian, and I love the Lord. Surely I don't need repentance. I'm doing pretty well. I'm not as bad as some. I'm better than most." My dear Christian friends, who are called by the name of Christ, we need to take a good hard look at our own lives and see how we are contributing to the overall apostasy of the Church. Let's continue...

Government Hypocrisy – Is it a person or not?

So guess what counts as a person according to the federal government? According to "CoverageforAll.org", which is a group founded to help educate people on what health care coverages they are eligible to receive, when determining how many PERSONS live in your home you can count a pregnant woman as 2. In other words, the federal government allows you to count the unborn child as part of your household so that you can determine how far under/over the poverty line you are.

There is a phrase frequently being spouted on the national scene from a variety of different sources. It seems to come from all sides of the political “aisle”, and is generally received as a true statement. Yet it is a statement that is fundamentally flawed. And to be quite honest, I've had about all that I can stand of the following phrase:
