How many 40+ men do you know that are excited about letting someone my age be the spiritual leader? I’m not sure everyone here is ready for a youthful pastor.
Strike Two: I’m single. Lots of issues there. Makes it harder for me to minister to the women, and also gives a certain sense of insecurity to the church. (Maybe?) It’s an issue ok.
Strike Three: I’m not a “Baptist”. That is to say, my doctrine might not line up just right with the churches. I’m certainly willing to preach if they are willing to listen, but they might want someone more their “flavor”.

Sounds like you definetly have lots going on in your life!  We are going to be having an Anger Resolution here in Mississippi in September followed by the Basic and Advanced.  I am of the newer ATI generation…we have only been in for six years so it is hard to imagine why so many people are against everything it stands for.  I guess I don’t understand why they can’t see the truth (like you pointed out).  For goodness sake, we are all human and capable of error and sin…even Mr. Gothard.  However, that does not limit God if He desires to use us in our humanness for His purposes.  Yes we get in the way…but He is sooo much more powerful than we are.  Sorry…got a little long there!

Personally…I think the South is a wonderful place!  You should give Mississippi a try… (My mom is from Indiana so that is a good place as well…but I much prefer the warm hospitality of the South – even if they do tend to stand on lots of tradition and “who won ‘The War'”)

1. You’re under age 35 (the minimum age for a United Sataes President)

2. You spell your name oddly – It’s hard to get it right in a church bulletin.

3. You’d call all the women in the church “Susan” – regardless of their real names.
