Thanks for the clarification Mr. XangO. But the fact remains that you (and myself included) go the wrong direction frequently, even if not for very long.

For the record: I was not going to Anderson, Indiana – since that is my hometown! and I knew how to get there almost in my sleep (and have done a few times). We were returning from some distance to her home in Rushville, Indiana. I was to get on Hwy 50 East, and ended up on 50 West (without knowing), and after a while – “Welcome to Illinois”. When I told her Dad (a pastor) what had happened, his response: “Well, I’ve not heard THAT one before.” I was pretty embarassed, but by the time I got back to my home church Sunday evening – everyone knew it and just laughed and laughed. And when I got to work the next day, it was all over there too. I’m glad I could bring some joy to so many – even to this very day.

And by the way, I did not end up in Ft Wayne. I went only about 20 miles in the opposite direction before realizing what I had done. (I might have ended up on Ft Wayne had I not been listening to the radio. I was listening to a Christian station based out of Ft Wayne, and I thought “Wow, that station is sure coming in strong today, I’m half-way to Indianapolis and it’s coming in strong!” That’s when it hit me – about the same time I saw “Huntington, next exit” (Dan Quayle’s hometown, btw).

Just thought we should clear this up!

Hey it was on the way back from Cedar Point not Kings Island. Both Chicago and Cedar Point are north of where we lived at the time. We just missed our exit to go south and kept heading west.
