This is definetly an amusing conversation! This conversation reminds me of the where Scripture talks about faith without works is dead! Even the demons believe there is a God...believing in God is not enough! I love where it points out how turning to God is a three fold action...repent - turn to God - begin serving God! I have taught two discipleship groups using the Commands of Christ material and I love to teach on repentance (probably because once I truly understood it myself it was amazing to me!) Scripture points out that we must first acknowledge our position before God, then choose to turn TO God and once we do that...to replace what we have turned from we begin to learn what it means to follow Christ and let His desires become our own...thus the fulfillment of the desires of our heart.

As I read this conversation, there are many even today who still hold to the mindset that all they must do is believe...thier faith is like "fire insurance" to them...Oh that our churches (like mine!) would point out the folly of sin and help us all recognize the ways we can daily turn to God in repentance and be zealous to do good works. I am saddened when I see churches so focused on Evangelism that they neglect Discipleship. How can they not realize that if Discipleship is happening the evangelism will follow?????

Great post...thanks for sharing it!
