Trials are hard to endure, and no one enjoys suffering. But the Grace of God in the midst of that suffering brings us through, and when we express gratefulness for that Grace, then God gets great glory. So I got an email from a friend a couple weeks back, and I found it to be a very clear and easy explanation of Grace and how to understand it according to Scripture. With all due respect and appreciation for my Calvinist friends, I present defining grace for your consideration and discussion:

Yesterday I gave testimony in our local body of believers, more like an admonishment really, on the importance of showing love to family members even when they do things that are wrong or hurtful. I was so inspired by the thought that I proceeded to preach a “sermonette” on the topic to the residents of Green Acres Nursing Home later that afternoon.
